I am so delighted to FINALLY be able to make this thread!!!! So, it turns out that there will be another X-Files movie after all.
Apparently, shooting is expected to start on December 10 and the movie should hit theater somewhere in July. (not so sure went anymore since both articles I read have different dates)

^^^well, lately I got my addiction back again. I've been watching these XF music vids; I especially enjoy the vids using music from Muse or LP. I also started reading fanfics again. Some of the stuff outhere is pretty good.
I forgot to mention something about the movie: It's a stand-alone ep. So most likely, it'll be set up before the final, meaning that Mulder and Scully are forever hiding away from the governement/aliens. Not sure how that'll play out in the time frame, but I guess we'll see. ETA: Oh and if anybody is interested in watching XF clips over youtube, type these words in teh search engine: most unwanted squirrel. You'll be pleasantly surprised, especially if you are a ship... ;D

What do you mean by "it will be set up before the final." Is there going to be a third movie? The plot sounds pretty interesting, thus far.

huh, yeah sorry, that was only clear in my head.
What I meant to say is that the movie is not a follow up of the last ep of season 9.
The movie is more like an extended X-Files ep taking place before "The Truth". Hence my comment "Mulder and Scully are forever hiding away from the governement/aliens".
Does that make more sense?

Oh, yeah... I get it now. So this movie is supposed to take place during the time before "The Truth"?

Here is what may adress this discussion (thanks evthreads):Originally Posted by The Hollywood ReporterThreesome mark spots for 'X-Files' By Gregg Goldstein Dec 6, 2007 NEW YORK -- The new "X-Files" movie will be packing more heat. Rapper Xzibit, Amanda Peet and Billy Connolly have signed on for director Chris Carter's next big-screen adaptation of the hit series for Fox. Sources said Xzibit and Peet will play fellow FBI agents to David Duchovny's Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Scully in the supernatural thriller with a stand-alone story, not a sequel or continuation of the hit 1998 feature adaptation. Citing a policy of secrecy surrounding the plot line, Fox would not confirm any details regarding the three actors' roles. Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the screenplay, and production is expected to begin this month in Vancouver. The film is set to hit theaters in July. Not sure how I feel about this...but I guess we'll wait and see.

Is there any part of the description that you don't like?

^^^yeah, I don't think Mulder and Scully should have "fellow FBI agents". Unless these fellow aren't that friendly in the end...
Mulder and Scully never really had any allies in the FBI (aside from Skinner); so if these new agents are like their allies, it will make no sense. Plus I don't want other agents taking too much screen time.

True, true. Mulder and Scully made such a great team on The X-Files. Agents Doggett and Reyes were good too, but the original team was so much better. These new agents might take away some of that greatness which lies in only Mulder and Scully alone.

I know this isn't anything to do with the movie, but SciFi Channel is doing a X-Files marathon today. Not sure if any of you will see this before it ends, but thought I'd let yah know.

I so wish I had the SciFi channel. I can't catch any reruns of the X-Files around. All I get is Sex and the City or 2 and 1/2 men.
Oh and that's not even related to the X-Files, but Jess, yesturday there was a 90min special on the Spice Girls on CTV.
