I got her first two albums, Little Earthquakes and Under The Pink, for Christmas and I love them. ;D I have been listening to Tori Amos since early 2007 or so. If you like her, you might like some of Amy Lee's other favorite female/female fronted artists that have influenced her, like Bjork and Portishead. I've been interested in these women for a while now; I don't really listen to the "femme metal" bands as much anymore. Although, I was listening to Nighwish last night, and I listened to Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, and After Forever today on my iPod.

Yey at me not being the only one (slow reply, much! haha) As a person, she is incredibly inspiring and is just very intelligent. She speaks a lot of sense. Musically, hell of a talented woman. I love that she addresses issues a lot of artists seem too scared to, or just don't have the ability to. I bought "A Piano: The collection." But i got it for about £30 instead of the retail price of £60/£70. One of the many reasons why i love Amazon Definately worth the money.

^ Really? That's cool. I was thinking about buying that collection, but it seemed to be too expensive the last time I checked on Amazon. I'm also interested in purchasing Welcome To Sunny Florida, her music video collection, and her "official bootlegs." What are your favorite songs from A Piano: The Collection? ;D Currently, I own almost all of Tori's albums. I still haven't bought Strange Little Girls and The Beekeeper yet. I think my trilogy of Tori albums would include Little Earthquakes, From The Choirgirl Hotel, and Scarlet's Walk. Which albums would you include in your trilogy?

Welcome to Sunny Florida is very good!! hmmm in my trilogy.. oh god thats hard. Ermm... The Beekeepers, Boys for Pele aaanndd *thinks veerryy hard* Little Earthquakes (although it was a tough call between that and American Doll Posse). And as for my favourite song from A Piano: The collection...thats a rather hard one to choose. I suppose id have to say 1000 oceans, as it has the highest play count on my itunes out of all of them. So yeh, i'll go for that one Have you read Piece by Piece?

Keely what do you think of American Doll Posse??
I'm still debating whether I like it or not, I like some of the songs on it. Very political as well...which always makes for interesting album.
When I seen the title of the song (and heard the song) "Velvet Revolution" I was like OMG Tori is getting all historical on us again ;D -- Mind you, the Velvet Revolution wasn't an American event, but hey...its history.
Do you all have a favourite Tori song?? I have several, but "I Can't See New York" is absolutely breathtaking...I also like it because its a very different song compared to other songs about 9/11 that I've heard.

I can't possibly choose one favorite song by Tori Amos, but I think I can choose a few from each album: Crucify Silent All These Years Precious Things Winter Happy Phantom Mother Tear In Your Hand Me And A Gun Little Earthquakes Pretty Good Year God Baker, Baker Cornflake Girl Beauty Queen/Horses Blood Roses Mr. Zebra Caught A Lite Sneeze Hey Jupiter Way Down Little Amsterdam Talula Spark Raspberry Swirl Iieee She's Your Cocaine Playboy Mommy 1000 Oceans Amber Waves A Sorta Fairytale Wednesday I Can't See New York Taxi Ride Gold Dust Big Wheel Digital Ghost Fat Slut Body And Soul Programmable Soda Roosterspur Bridge Almost Rosey Dark Side Of The Sun Heh... I know that's a lot, but I really do enjoy most of her songs. I still have to give some of her albums more listens to fully appreciate them.

yes- i agree with that. Theres a lot of Tori music to listen to! At the moment i'm a bit addicted to the song "Gold dust". But i could list so many songs that i could count as my favourites...
Oo..have you heard about the new "Comic Book Tattoo" book, due out next month but availiable for pre-order. And i've heard talks of a new album out next year, and I *think* Tori has left Epic records. Just been browsing around the Tori forums...

I love "Gold Dust" too. It's such an amazingly beautiful song. It somehow makes me feel emotional, maybe even a little bit sad. In my opinion, "Gold Dust" and "Little Earthquakes" are the best closing songs out of all of Tori's albums. ;D I haven't heard of "Comic Book Tattoo." Is it like another unauthorized biography? I've heard rumors that Tori is working on her next album as well. She's going independent now and will release her next album on her own indie label, I believe.

Haven't heard of any of these things (I'm always out of the loop). It seems a lot of a singers/bands leave there labels lately. If she's working on an album on her own label I can't wait too hear it. According to WikiPedi (which I know isn't that reliable) it says she'll be "operating independently for her future work" Gold Dust is an amazing song!!

I'm not entirely sure what the whole Comic Book Tattoo thing is about, but I know it's something official as Tori has been working on it as well. I *think* it's a visual side of the songs, so basically a comic telling the stories of the songs.

I've been starting to like some more songs that I was initially not very fond of beforehand. I now absolutely love "Jackie's Strength." It's such a beautiful song and I can't believe that I didn't like it before.
