From John's blog (taken from evthread): blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...e-dbf8c60d06edHey everyone, I've been getting your messages all morning and figured I would give a little personal insight to this situation. Around 3:30 pm yesterday I recieved a call on my cell from Amy. This call wasn't from a friend who appreciated me but from an enemy who was prepared to hurt me and my family. Without any warning or negotiotiations for my future, I was fired for no good reason. We have not always seen eye to eye on everything, but who does? Our common goal was always the same. To make Evanescence the best rock band it could ever be. I have always given blood, sweat and tears to make that happen but apparently that is not enough. I have now become just another of the people fallen by the wayside on the revolving door of her life. It's funny how many of us there are now. I guess it's good for lyrical content, though. Maybe I will be among the blessed to have a song written about me, too. Maybe the song will be "Call Me When You're Broke". Whatever, as of next week my band Machina will be doing major label showcases in New York. There is a big buzz for it and we hope it will go well. I'm not going to sit here and be negative because that is not who I am. What I will say it that I know that many of you think she is some genuis or saviour of some kind. I just want you to know that my family and I will forever remember her as being about as deep as the shallow end of a child's wading pool and her lyrics about as deep as the 2 dimensional surface that they were written on. Singing beautifully for the duration of a record or two can move the spirit of the people listening, but the way you treat those around you who you are supposed to care about speaks volumes more than that and I would hope that some of you are listening. Well, that's it. I hope that sheds some light on the current situation for you. Thank you all for the good years and being the most incredible fans and friends. Maybe I will see you again. I am going to play with my little boy now, peace.

I don't know what to say right now except this:
WTF?
I now need to digest/process this and not think that Amy is a total bitch. No offense.

It sounds true, they have quotes from John(quotes can be made up though), but if it wasn't I think Wind-Up would have given them a quote...or something to say it isn't true.
I laughed when I seen the 'no loyalty', thats a lot of words coming from someone who started a new band while in another one, that almost NEVER works out, you seen it in bands and groups ALL the time, someone branches out...the next thing you know, there no longer in the band/group or the band/group breaks up.
I can't say I'm surprised, I seen this coming ever since I heard both John and Rocky started a new band.
I hope I'm not sounding like a bitch, but I have no sympathy for either. I feel bad for Amy though, she's a girl and there(the media) are going to make her look like some devil bitch diva.
And she could have done it in a better way...but lets be serious, this is the music buisness.

I don't really know what to think. I've read John's side of the story and seen Rocky change his headline to "Evanescence SUCKS!!!!!!" on his MySpace. I'm just going to wait to hear Amy's side of the story or official confirmation from Wind-Up.

And she could have done it in a better way...but lets be serious, this is the music buisness. totally, the music business is just...well, it's what it is.
And I think that Amy will be hated. And it is an understatement I am making because fans who loved her will not be happy at all. I believe that this will hurt her career...
And to be frank, I don't care, because would she had been smart, she would have played her cards differently. You DON'T fire your guitarist in the middle of the tour, ESPECIALLY if you CAN'T predict that your drummer will stay. Because without a BOTH a drummer and a guitarist, you can't tour at all.
BTW, where was I? I had no idea John and Rocky had their own band. ;D
And throughout all this, I'll still listen to Eva, but won't see them as any different anymore. Too bad though 'cuz I used to love to think that Amy was "normal"...meh.

I think she is "normal" to some point, but she's a perfectiest...that can cause problems.
However, as I already said, most of the time when people branch out it ALWAYS ends bad. They honestly set themselves up for this. When I found out they had a new band(they started it before TOD was released) I lost a lot of respect for the two of them, because I knew they'd end up out of Ev sooner or later, because after awhile you start putting all your energy into one of the bands, and then thats where you get your problems.
Oh and real mature of Rocky to put 'evanescence sucks', dude be the bigger person...
This will get interesting Evanescence VS Kittie -- which band will have the most musicians to ever be/and leave the band...lol -- At this moment, I believe Kittie is in the lead. (funny side of things so you all can laugh)

^^^Ah true. Amy is a perfectionist and in the end, I believe that this can bite you in the ass if your not careful.
 But throughout my chord mind-numbing session, I figure out a way for them to deal with that:
Terry = drums (he played the drums on the demos. lol Although he said that he played "nothing good." But who cares!!! Eva needs to be saved!!! )
Tim = guitar
some pre-recorded thing = Bass
Amy = well she just keeps doing what she does best. (lol whatever that is. Wow. I am so going to crack jokes at her now. You'd think she'd learn from previous tour with the whole Ben thing but whatever. Maybe she likes problems because then she can solve them and it makes her feel strong. )
Another solution would be to do "Evanescence: the search for the next members."
As you said Jess; we better make jokes about this. Otherwise, I think that reality just plain suck.
By the way, am I the only one who though that this was April's fool?

They must have found replacements. Maybe people from other bands that they're touring with are helping out?

^^^You forgot to add FMB.
To be frank, at first, I felt like bitching Amy a bit, but that just because I don't agree. Then again, nothing tells me that John is right. I mean, he's pretty emotional right now and he made very personal attacks to Amy. Plus I heard that he is posting this on every board of Eva he's a member of...
So seriously, I think that there's lots of shit going on that we don't know about, because I doubt that Amy just decided for no reason to fire John. That stuff is like a divorce; crappy things last for a good while before pple actually call it quit.
Long story short, there are always 3 versions to every conflicts and I am just glad that at least Terry didn't quit or got fired. ;D

Wow, this sucks. Someday, I swear, there will be an "Evanescence: The Soap Opera" about all the drama with this band.
Side projects work out in indie bands, but not with major label bands that require all your time. You also have to know that really only one project at a time can get the attention it needs.
And I don't know what reason Amy has for firing John, but I hope it was the good one. Maybe she's not actually like how John is accusing her to be, but the evidence sure seems to be stacking up. She's the only one left from their original touring line-up, and that's scary.

Statement from Amy Lee: "Evanescence is alive and well. John and Rocky were in Evanescence for four years and we shared some great times together playing live, but they were ready to move on and so we have parted ways. Evanescence is something I have loved and nurtured since I was fourteen, and I will continue to protect and fight for it as I always have. Terry, Tim and I are very excited to play live with some amazing new musicians and we will rock harder than ever. Stay tuned for more news on that front. And don't worry about the tour, guys. Nothing will be cancelled and we will see you soon!" Source: www.evthreads.com/showthread.php?t=5580
