Solitude
Evanescence EP, Track 2
Credited as the first Evanescence song ever written. Amy Lee is credited to have written the song. Released on the Evanescence EP in 1998. Will Boyd is credited with bass, backup vocals, and guitar on this work. This is the first in a series of four piano ballads that Amy and Ben created in a friendly writing competition.
This song is also mistaken for being called "Secret Admirer."
Solitude:
2, 3, 4
0:00 - 0:14
How many times have you told me you love her? As many times as I wanted to tell you the truth How long have I stood here beside you? I live through you, you looked through me
Ooh, solitude Still with me is only you Ooh, solitude I can’t stay away from you
1:22 - 1:40
How many times have I don’t this to myself? Hmm How long will it take before I see? When will this hole in my heart be mended? Who now is left alone but me?
Ooh, solitude Forever me and forever you Ooh, solitude Only you, only true
Everyone leaves me stranded, Forgotten, abandoned, left behind I can’t stay here another night
3:13 - 3:19
Your secret admirer, Who could it be?
Ooh, Can’t you see all along it was me? How can you be so blind as to see right through me?
And ooh, solitude Still with me is only you Ooh, solitude I can’t stay away from you, Ooh
And ooh solitude Forever me and forever you Ooh, solitude Only you, only true
4:50 - 5:44

Some info:
Said to be the first Evanescence song; the song 'The End' is more or less the background for the end of Solitude. This song, along with GUM were written SOLELY by Amy. (copyrights say these songs have only Amy on them, where as Understanding is Ben and My Immortal is about 80% Ben 20% Amy (for the bridge of the new versions. Old = 100% Ben)

I think the Fallen version of Whisper is similar to Solitude because of the choirs at the end of the songs (even though I don't think Amy and Ben actually USED a choir for the EP, I think it was just Amy's voice with distortion)
