Ascension Of The Spirit
Track number 6 on the "Sound Asleep\Whisper EP."
This is the first recorded instrumental done by Evanescence. There are 3 versions of this, most of you have the 3:16 one, but this is rumored to be a fan made track. There are supposedly two fan made/bootlegs and one original. The original of 11:50 long. The time varies though. So that's is my skeptic to this 11:50 version. My version is 11:50 long. The 11:50 version one has two quotes from the movie "My Boyfriend's Back," and is mostly blank space. 0:00 - 2:55 is silence. Then you hear something like a door opening or colsing.. you hear the two quotes and then the sound of the door opening or closing again, you hear a da da da da sound, like in sitcoms, and then silence from 3:25 - 8:19. The the 3:16 instrumental.
Ascension Of The Spirit:
3:16 version:
Instrumental
3:45 version:
"Goodbye son. Be nice to God."
"I made you bologna and mustard, with the edges cut off, just the way you like it."
Instrumental.
11:50 version:
"Goodbye son. Be nice to God."
"I made you bologna and mustard, with the edges cut off, just the way you like it."
Instrumental.

Some info: For some reason, the 11 minute version was very hard to find (as was the GUM Instrumenal) and it only began circulating when it was found on FOI3, Fall of 2005. The 3:15 version and the 3:45 version are both 'shortened edits' made by people because they didn't like the silence The 11:48 one is the original one (given that durations VARY. 3:14-3:18 is Shortened Edit 1; 3:44-3:48 is Shortened Edit 2; 11:47-11:51 is Original. Seconds of silence randomly creap in there.) The Edit 2 that is in circulation now is currently 3:48 (made by nyohah) because the 3:45 one specifically wasn't popping up and MLB people began saying that it's the same if someone just put clip + song. So nyohah did just that. (And she did an excellent job, making the break between clip + song better by putting 2 seconds of silence, hence the longer duration) In the clip, a quote from My Boyfriend's Back (1993) (first stated on MLB) where the charecter Mr Dingle says ' Goodbye son, be nice to God.' It is assumed the other part of the quote follows like in the song, and is his wife. Info from: MLB, FOI3, ev.it
