Amy's done a new interview with Spin, you can read the interview... www.spin.com/articles/evanescences-amy-lee-its-not-all-sadThoughts? I like the sound of a folky and Celtic music. I think Amy (lately) has sounded better at the piano rather than rocking out. Still not sure where Evanescence stands though.

Yeah, I read this interview also, on evthreads I think.
Personally, I am not surprised by this "new direction", if you wanna call it that way. Evanescence has been narrowingly categorized since the beginning, and I assume that this has been very constraining for Amy.
Also, Amy started Eva when she was a teen and at that time that music style fitted with who she was. Now, she's married, she's more happy mentally/psychologically, her musical tastes have changed, etc. So Eva isn't really the kind of music she feels like making anymore.
Honestly, my opinion is that if Amy, despites the consequences (less money, angry fans) wants to do something different, then more power to her.
