Ben Moody, John LeCompt & Rocky Gray are teaming up with former American Idol contestant Carly Smithson for the new band The Fallen. www.popeater.com/music/article/carly-smithson-in-evanescence-offshoot/532428So what does everyone think? Excited? Not Excited? I find it creepy they've chosen Carly Smithson just for the simple fact she looks almost exactly like Amy. According to the article their are not plans for an album yet, they are going to be going on tour though.

I sooo don't care. I probably would care more if there weren't using concept such as ¨fallen¨and such.
That was cool a few years back, but now I find it totally overated. It's just soo melodramatic for no reason. You fall you get up, end of story.
Then again, maybe that's the only kind of music these guys can do/like to do.

It is very melodramatic, reminds me of high school type drama.
I don't think there is anything wrong with doing that type of music, just because most artist stick to the same music throughout the years just with growth. But... its just weird to have it be called "The Fallen" and someone looking like Amy fronting the band. It's almost like their not 'over' what happened.
I wonder how hard the music will be though, I always thought Ben was a bit poppy. I mean he's worked with Kelly Clarkson, Anastasia, Celine Dion & Lindsay Lohan as either guirtist and/or lyricist. So I am kind of interested to see how 'hard' their music is.

^^Thanks for posting the link, now we finally get to hear them! At first I thought that was your response to the new band Simon. LOL Then I realize it was their new song/single. This is what I posted on my Last.fm journal... thought I'd share here. This is just my opinion, but I think they have put themselves in a place that they might regret. Carly sounds like Amy (just with a deeper voice - not sure if that is the 'right' word). I have a feeling a lot of people are going to think this IS Evaenscence. I don't know WHY anyone would want to put themselves in this position, especially with everything that went down between Amy & Ben (and the other guys). I would have thought he'd want to distance himself from Amy & Evanescence to some degree. I mean, Ben will always be known as the guy from Evanescence, that can't be helped, but he (and the other members) aren't helping themselves by putting out another verison of Evanescence, they might as well have called the band Evanescence 2.0
Oh and the song...
I'm not really impressed with it, I don't really care for the lyrics... I do like the beat and all that, but the lyrics aren't doing anything for me. It's a bit long, but oh well. What is everyone's thought on the song?

Interesting, she sounds like Amy. Somebody, someday, as to explain to me what message Ben is trying to convey with his body language. Love Rocky's new hair.

Funny, I just though it was his way of trying to be a cool tough metal guy.
