Amy posted a blog entry on the Evanescence MySpace Page.. (not sure if she actually posted it or if it was copied from their official site). Will the real Slim Shady Please stand up There's some pretty weird stuff flying around right now and I'd like to clear up some confusion in the press. As our fans already know, Ben Moody left Evanescence in 2003. Evanescence came out with a follow-up to Fallen in 2006. It was called The Open Door and it debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts and reached platinum status in just over a month. The Open Door has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. We're currently working on new material that I'm extremely excited about. I believe that to make great music you have to give yourself the freedom to evolve. I don't see the point in making the same record twice, so I always want to challenge myself to make something better, stronger, and more interesting than before. That takes time, but it's worth the wait for me. Hopefully, it will be for the fans too. Look out for new music next year... -Amy blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=17657140&blogId=495706471This post was clearly written to answer back in some ways to the news of Ben, John & Rocky's new band... But nice of her to update us! I had been wondering if they were working on any new music. I'm very excited about this update! Thoughts?

I think this is chicken-shit. She's had this up for download to help Haiti for a couple weeks, and it's no longer special for those who donated, unlike many other artists who've released songs ONLY for download for Haiti. More money for Haiti could have been raised with this song, but it's no longer going to do that. But, my opinion doesn't matter.... Here's where you can download the new song.
Notice how it doesn't even mention that it's the song she used to help get donations for Haiti? Was this her, or the record label?

I do agree that this is a pretty stupid move. They should have waited a year before doing this....*maybe* it could have been released on a single. But now? Seriously? That's really insulting for those who bought it.

Yeah it is. And she's bragging how it's in the top 50 sales on iTunes already. That tells me she's only in it for the money, and the love of music and fans is diminishing. I know she has to change and grow as a human being, much less in her music, but I'm seeing a whole new side of her that I'm not a fan of. I now see Seether's lyrics about their relationship and breakup from a whole new standpoint. It saddens me.

^^^Yeah, success had to affect her. I don't know if I do blame her/the label for having done that, however, I do think that the whole thing was a mistake. If they want to make money, they should just put an album out already and stop taking these extended breaks.
Seether's lyrics where not about Amy, as stated by Shaun. They were inspired by the relationship he had after Amy. And to explain this further, here is a quote from the man himself: "Amy and I, at our worst moments, were still better than this last girl and I at our best moments".
Aaaaahhh, I love wiki and Seether.

I gonna play the devil's advocate for a bit here ...
Unless you guys know something that I don't, then how is it that we know Amy herself was the one behind this and not Wind-Up? Let us not forget how Wind-Up pushes its weight around in decisions, such examples including: forcing BMTL to be the first single (and have a male singer), delaying CMWYS release because they didn't like the guitar solo in the middle, cancelling Good Enough, screwing up on Lithium's release, choosing EF over Imaginary for the 4th single of Fallen (etc).
How do we know Amy herself put her hands together and said "MWHAHA now I have more gold for my coffers! Thank you Together Again and all those suckers who purchased it. Thank you iTunes. MWHAHA!"
This could easily be a Wind-Up seizure of power, once again, and transfered Together Again to iTunes so A) they can make more money and B) it can be accessed by a greater amount of people. It would mean to them diddly-do if Amy or anyone else was against the idea. Amy might have very well been against the idea and they could have just overroad her. Considering the third album is due to come out sometime in the next millenium, I doubt she'd want to ruffle anyone's feathers and blog about a latest battle with Wind-Up over the issue and, instead, let them do whatever/wash her hands of an issue she can't control anyways. Some wars you have to choose carefully because Wind-Up likes being controlling and playing games.
*shrug* That's what I'm thinking at least.
