Seriously. Why did everyone abandon the site? I know everyone has lives, but that never stopped you guys before, so I'm interested to know what's changed (other than our host) that made everyone leave and not come back. Just curious, more than anything...but I miss my hours on here a day...even though my job won't let me be here as much as I used to, an hour of good fun is totally missed.

I generally read but don't post much =(
that seems to be the general consensus, but no one's saying why. Guess it doesn't matter much, since no one's really here to see this. 'Tis a shame to see this hard work to to pot like it has. UV spent a lot of time and effort here, and to have it just blow up and disappear is a pity. To be honest, I can say that a single person brought the boards to a screeching halt, and forced us to change servers, which lost us 80% of our members. Nice going. I hope he's proud of himself, ruining what someone put 3 years of really hard work in to.

I do believe that most members have left because of the consitent board changing. Also, maybe they've join evthreads, that's the official board afterall.
As to why I post less, in my case, that's a generalized pattern. I don't post anywhere anymore, 'cuz I need to cut down my computer time. Gotta practice more guitar and do my regular school work, hence less computer.
I do miss all the activity that was once going on around here though. It's sad to see that no one is really posting anymore.

Here is my two cents.
The General Demographic of the Boards have changed. 2 years ago the majority of the Board were in high school, Now we've all grown and Matured, Gotten Jobs, Continued our education, and Basically have Life to contend with. I always have Foi as an afterthought. I am changing Career's and Have A family to support and A marriage to save, I know I am guilty of thinking of FOI as a MessageBoard and Not as The Community it has grown to be.
I often tend to forget that The FOI community is Actual People!! I know that sounds Awful, It's not that I don't Care it's the complete Opposite. This is my Savior, My escape from the real world. I can;t wait to see if Keely becomes A social Worker? When Mary finishes collage, When Unicorn07 finishes University!! All of that
And when you guys all fall in love and become Parents. I hope this will all still be around for that. I guess what I am trying to say is we need to fight for the Community and The closeness we have here.
We All need to stop thinking of it as just a messageboard And think if it as real People and Our neighbourhood and Most of all our Home..
I will make the effort here. who is with me??

But then it'll be summer holidays and i'll have a bunch of free time..and i'll have free time to post a ton over the christmas holidays!!

As I've already stated in another thread... The problem lies with the Femme Metal Board, I think. Members like DarkFlare89, deadboy, and nyohah seem to like it over there because of all the downloads and the different bands. I think they're losing interest in Evanescence and are trying out different bands, which is okay. I would really love for this board to come back to life as well. It's a shame really because we had so many great times here and I don't want the board to disappear because of the lack of members of posting.

^^Honestly, I haven't seen John or Nyohah at FMB in a huge while...not that I spend that much time at FMB anymore...I only hang there for the downloads, but then it's back for the talking. I am totally with you this on Simon. Wouldn't have been able to say these things better. I would be very sad to see this board disappear because then I wouldn't know what is happening to everybody.
Also, I wouldn't be doing as good as I am today if it would not have been for the help and support I've received from everybody here. So I'll definetely do my part in keeping this place running.

Well me, personally, I've just been trying to get things together in my life, and I honestly don't do much on the internet these days.
I as well do miss the activeness on the board though!!! I do come on to see how people are doing, and TRY to comment, but lately I've been lacking in that department.
I think most of the problem is probably school and some people on the boards have really started to put there lives together or things have started going very well for them, and they are just to busy.

I totally agree with you 100%. The members here have been talking to and supporting each other for years. We have all become so close even though we have never met each other in person. It will be a real shame if The Fields Of Innocence community meets its demise. I want this board to be around in years to come and wish that it will become as active as it used to be.

Since I'm being talked about, I might as well give my opinion. Now I know everyone is busy, and I know everyone worked hard on this site to make it what it is now, but this is just my opinion. We are basing our current FOI(6)with the popularity of FOI(2), FOI(3), and FOI (4), right? Each version of FOI (not including the first one because that was before my time) had something special about it: FOI2 had hard to find and never before revealed live-sets. PinkPop '03? Nashville '03? Norfolk '03? All on FOI! FOI2 had that inspiration page that connected to that girl on deviantART and it had a real Origin theme and at the time, yeah, I was ecstatic to find all the Eva demos in one place. Comparing FOI2 to now? Where is all the exclusive hard to find live sets and where are all the live sets we use to know back in FOI2? Ever since the change into FOI3, those livesets were never re-uploaded back onto the site. And I know that takes bandwich and I know that everyone tried their best, but that was one of the main things that got me excitied and enabled me to check back on FOI everyday. FOI3, which in it's prime could EASILY beat out FMB in every which way; had three main things: downloads, fourms, and the people on the fourms. Anyone here remember Corina? Eva? Truls? We had some real FOI veterens, and to me the exciting time (whenever a new FOI would come out) would be seeing and hearing from them again. Unfortunately after FOI4, that just stopped happening. Not saying that I don't love the people who are here now, it's just that I miss the FOI Originals. They aren't even on FMB anymore either. Also the downloads...do you guys remember the 'Holiday Uploads' that would happen every big holiday came up? Requests, and HQ videos and hard-to-find stuff was posted every holiday. Yeah, I tried to do that on FMB and it didn't really work. So that hasn't happened in a long time. But even with FMB, FOI3 ANNIHILATED it with downloads. We had the 'Download of the Day' and 'Here are some DOWNLOADS for you guys!' and 'The Request Topic' and others. Not to mention our ever growing NW, WT, LC, and Epica section as well. FOI3 could easily have been called the 'little FMB in the making'. I know we can't upload stuff now because of copyright and everything, but without the constant seeking of new downloads and bootlegs and fun stuff like that...the excitment is gone. Not to mention the fact that in the rules, they say we aren't allowed to upload even things that are not on the site, yet I remember on FOI4 when we had requests, they were never answered. (I know you guys are busy, but that did put off some members). The fourms were also really cool too. Ask-Kohner was at it's prime too back then. Ask-Kohner lasted until FOI5, where also it was 'suppose' to become a main part of the site. That too, never happened FOI4 specialized in games. Boy did we have games! Lots of them too! Fun games and cool games and just games all around! But by the time we had FOI5, all the games were gone. After re-signing up five times, people who use to sign up here just stopped. They figured they'd wait a few months and FOI(7) would come out. Every three/five months or so we'd change fourms...important topics would just...die...before our very eyes. And I know it sometimes it was because of server crashes and hackers but it still was disenheartening. As a result, many people stopped coming to the fourms. FOI5 caused the veterans to not even sign up and FOI6, I mean I usually was on everyday on FOI, now don't too much because the absense of downloads...and updates...and the lyrics (which were suppose to make their come back in FOI4)...and other things (like a working Discography/Videography we had in FOI2)...that is what put off alot of people and thus made them look for other places. Hence why myself, and others included (I don't like naming specific people; I think that's rude to do) went to FMB. It was basically FOI2+3+4 all in the same package. Truls is on there...once in a blue moon; Eva disappeared and Corina is busy with school-ish studies and stuff (talked on MSN). FMB not only had the excitment of downloads (oh where did TOD leak and spread? FMB. Same with Karmakode (although no one cared about that one ) but it had...intresting facts about the other bands. (Speaking of which, I need to update my NW Discography...stupid Dark Passion Play's billion and one versions) Not only that, but my computer time is also significantly less than what it use to be. I work on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; and that doesn't even include the school I have to go to from Monday-Friday...and I'm busy with the random college crap and other nonsense I have to deal with on a daily basis. So yeah...time is precious... That's all I got to say. Now with FMB gone (*hatred* *anger* *rage*) I'm just waiting to see what else will pop up. I'll probably post here more often now, but other than this place there is Only Eva and The Promise Fourms that I am still members of.
